Buyer segments · the worries in simple words

Every buyer in the room starts with a problem, not with a company name

The same purchase is judged by people with different worries. Simple words reach all of them.

Which worry is the person in front of you carrying?

What you are seeingOne purchase, several people, and each one carries a different worry into the room. None of them starts by typing a company name. Each card gives the worry in plain words, the question that person asks, what EKU can say today and where the proof sits.

Finance: More from the equipment already bought, without new capital.

What they ask. Can we get more hours and more output from the units we own before we buy another one?

What EKU can say today. Maximus and Sophia show which units sit idle and which run hard, so the fleet you own carries more of the load.

Operations: No unit stopping without warning.

What they ask. Will I know a unit is in trouble before it stops?

What EKU can say today. Sophia watches every unit, on site and in the cloud, and raises the alert while there is still time to act.

Engineering: What happens if the connection drops, and who owns the protections.

What they ask. If the cloud link goes down, does the site keep running, and which device trips the breaker?

What EKU can say today. The site is designed to keep running on its own controllers when the link is lost, and protection stays in separate relays.

Procurement: Compare line by line, without being locked into one brand.

What they ask. Can I put your offer next to two others and compare the same nine lines?

What EKU can say today. The architecture matrix sets the Maximus ecosystem next to four rivals on nine dimensions, each cell with its source.

Packagers: All of the above, while they write the spec.

What they ask. Will this work with the engines and controllers my customer already chose, and can I write it into the spec today?

What EKU can say today. Maximus works above the genset controllers of several makers. The technical record lists them, for engineering to confirm.

How to use it in a conversation

  1. Open with the fleet question. "How many different generator brands are in your fleet today?" More than one brand is a prospect.
  2. Find the worry. Listen for which of these the person in front of you is carrying. A finance question and an engineering question need different first sentences.
  3. Answer in their words. Use the line on the card, then open the file behind it. Say "designed for", never "measured", until the site test is published.
  4. Leave the other worries for the people who carry them. The packager is the exception: bring all of them, because the packager writes the spec.

Strategic conclusion

Buyers start from a problem. Simple words about that problem reach every person in the purchase.

Commercial implication

A page or a pitch written for one worry loses the others. The same offer has to be said in different ways, one per worry.

Recommended use

The sales lead uses it to prepare a meeting. The marketing lead uses it to check that each new page answers at least one worry in its first lines.

Validation status. Kanbina Lumina reading of the buyer map and the field voice of the commercial team. Working Hypothesis until the sales lead checks it against live deals. Lines marked Stated by EKU wait for engineering.
