AI and search content · the case template
A case that waits for perfect figures helps nobody. A structure with the blanks marked can be finished in a morning.
What would a buyer need to see to believe it worked somewhere like their site?
Model: the idle-reduction business case of 11 September 2026
Say the result or the pain in the buyer's words. One number.
59% of Active Engine Time Wasn't Pumping
Other ways to write it
This is the paragraph an AI assistant quotes. Who, what, how many, over how long, measured how.
Across about 18 months, EKU tracked a 42-unit hydraulic fracturing fleet through Sophia telemetry. About 59% of active engine time fell outside pumping; with the Engine Standby Controller managing those states, the fleet recorded about 844,717 gallons of fuel savings.

A small table. Fleet, window, hours, the problem share, the result, the payback.
Fleet: 42 units, anonymized, Americas. Window: January 2025 to August 2026. Active engine hours: ~156,600. Outside pumping: 59%. Fuel saved: ~844,717 gal. Average efficiency: 82%. Payback: ~7.5 months.

Use the question a buyer would type. Then answer it with the customer's own numbers.
Why were 59% of active engine hours non-productive in this fleet?
Other ways to write it
Put a price on one hour or one event. Buyers forward this paragraph to finance.
One non-productive engine hour cost about $39.60 in fuel, $34.26 in ownership and $20.28 in maintenance at this fleet's baseline.

Three sentences. What the product does, where it sits, what it does not replace.
The controller sits on top of the existing engine controls. It stops and restarts the engine when the unit is waiting, and it keeps the unit ready. Nothing on the engine is replaced.
Other ways to write it
Observed figures only. Say where each one comes from.
Pumping 41%, ready 42%, non-pumping 12%, conditioning 5%. Source: Sophia telemetry, January 2025 to August 2026.
Other ways to write it
Modeled figures. Say they are modeled and name the assumptions.
Modeled savings of about $551,250 a month against $3.7M of investment: payback in about 7.5 months. With fuel valued at zero, about 14 months.
Other ways to write it
One paragraph on the crew, the routine, the calls at night.
Crews stopped starting units by hand between stages. One start truck per site became optional.

The honest part: what is still open, and the next product that addresses it.
12% of engine time is still non-pumping. Tightening that is the job of site-level control.

Five questions a buyer types. Each answer under sixty words, with one number.
How much fuel does idle reduction save on a frac fleet? In this 42-unit fleet, about 844,717 gallons over 18 months.

Under every figure block: instrument, scope, dates, and the word observed or modeled.
Source and scope: EKU Sophia telemetry and EKU return model, anonymized hydraulic fracturing fleet, Americas, January 2025 to August 2026. Observed figures come from telemetry; financial figures are modeled.
The idle-reduction case is oil and gas. Buyers of site control ask for a power generation case, and EKU's own presentation holds three.
| Project | What the presentation states | Outcome, in its words | The numbers that would make it a case |
|---|---|---|---|
| A two-site microgrid | Two interconnected sites with generators, switchgear and a battery. | Stable ride-through when a generator trips; more capacity used with the battery; faster remote troubleshooting. | The number of trips ridden through, the response in milliseconds, hours of remote diagnosis saved. |
| A battery plant for a data center | A containerized battery plant that backs a data center. | Grid-forming during a utility outage; peak shaving; coordinated dispatch. | One outage event with its timeline; the peak reduction in kW; the months in service. |
| A mobile generator fleet | Trailer-mounted generator units with switchgear and telemetry on every unit. | Repeatable commissioning; one screen across the fleet; less training for field crews. | Commissioning days per unit before and after; the number of sites served; call-outs avoided. |

Closing
One structure for every case makes the second case a morning's work.
A published case is the one thing AI assistants can quote when a buyer asks for evidence. EKU has none in power generation yet.
The marketing lead fills the amber fields with the engineer who ran the site, prints it, and sends it to leadership for the figures.
Validation status. Model text from EKU's idle-reduction business case of 11 September 2026: observed figures from telemetry, financial figures modeled. Two figures to confirm. The power generation candidates carry no figures: sizes and outcomes are for EKU to add once a case is confirmed.
